She's Here!

Emmerich Anne Schmitt made her debut in the world on July 12th at 10:53 am.
She was 7 lb 8 oz and 19 inches long.

After having contractions all day Monday about 15-20 minutes apart they finally became regular around 8:00pm and by 2:00 in the morning they were coming every 5 minutes or so. After about an our of that Paul and I got our things ready and headed to the hospital. The hospital is about 40 minutes away and it was quite an interesting car ride, made more interesting by the fact that we missed the exit AND the turnaround...but we eventually made it and got checked in. By about 7am I was 7cm dialated and opted for an epidural. God bless modern medicine! Things were much better then. I was ready to push at about 10:15 and after about 30 minutes our beautiful baby girl with a head full of dark hair arrived.

All grandparents were in attendance and were extatic to meet her! We went home a little over 24 hours later and minus the fact that Paul and I are running on VERY minimal sleep, we are all healthy and happy. She's eating like a champ and we are so in love with her.

Here are a few pictures from her first 4 days!
 Sleeping beauty 2 days old
 Sweet face... 3 days old
