Paul had a glorious 6 days off surrounding new years weekend and we spent Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon in Galveston. It was a much needed break for us and we are so glad that we could be joined by such great friends. Hooray for our annual get together!
They boys went fishing on Saturday while the girls browsed in shops on the strand. Very serious fishing.

We cooked a big New Year's meal - mustard rubbed roast, green beans, "heavenly" potatoes, and a delicious strawberry salad. With Champagne cupcakes for dessert. Yum - O! We also had yummy pastries and breakfast tacos. We don't skimp when it comes to food (and fun).
Emmerich had a little bit of a tough time sleeping on Friday night but she was certainly entertained by the crowd and did much better Saturday and Sunday. She went to lunch with the girls and then shopped. She even woke up just before midnight on New Year's Eve. She's a party girl! I was so glad that the Jacksons and Robin finally got to meet Emmerich! She loves all of her aunties and uncles; especially when they let her fly like an airplane.
