After a busy weekend of planting and tidying up the house (thanks Dad, Dianne, Becky and Steve) we put the house on the market last Monday around 10:30am. The afternoon was packed full of people coming to see the house. It was kind of weird knowing that people were walking through our house without us there…but, I got over that rather quickly when that evening I got a text message from our realtor saying that she thought we’d have an offer in the morning from one of the viewings. We touched base with her on Tuesday afternoon, and not only did we have one offer, we had 3, all of which came in above our asking price and all of which were willing to let Paul and I stay in the house until the end of May.
We chose the best offer for us and went into the “option period” last Friday. Inspectors came Monday and now we are just waiting with baited breath hoping that none of the necessary repairs are too extensive. I’m guessing we will hear something toward the end of the week.
If all goes well, then we will close in mid April and move out by the last weekend in May.
God definitely had his hand in this one! Selling the house in a timely manner was something that I was incredibly nervous about because so many “next steps” relied on this one. With all of these transitions happening, this certainly takes a load off of our shoulders and makes us feel more at ease about seriously looking for a place in Wharton. We’ve visited a few houses, but that’s a whole different post. Lets just say we haven’t found anything quite like we are looking for, but if we were 75 going on 90 there would be plenty of houses with décor and updates right up our alley.
We’ll keep you posted on the housing progress!

For those of you who haven't seen the kitchen remodel...
And the bathroom remodel...
Oh the memories. Looking at the pictures makes me a little bittersweet. We sure are going to miss this little house. We've put so much love into it. Here' s hoping the next house is filled with as much love and good times.
