Here are some pictures from Emmerich's third birthday. I can't believe my baby is 3. I don't know why this one hit me so hard, but it did. She is changing so much and growing up every day.
She is still my tiny little thing. 13% for weight and 68% for height. I worried and worried about this when she was younger, but it turns out that this is just who she is. She is actually a pretty good eater. Of course she prefers pizza and macaroni, but she will also eat asparagus and broccoli. And she is a milk-a-saurus!
She loves watching movies and dinosaur train on PBS. She also likes to pretend. Her favorite is playing baby. She is adjusting well to our move to College Station. It took her about a month to be comfortable playing with new people, but now she is all about making new friends.
We had a mermaid party this year. It basically consisted of ocean decor, a baby pool and buried treasures in the sand in the backyard. My theory on birthdays at this age is simple entertainment for the kids + adult beverages for grown ups = success.
The cake was chocolate this year (per birthday girl's request). I actually ended up using a box mix. I used a betty crocker mix that called for eggs and butter. I'm usually anti-mix, but it turns out renovating a house and hosting a party at the same time is a little bit of a challenge. The cake actually turned out pretty yummy (I'm sure it was due to the ridiculous amount of butter in the cake and frosting). This may be my new favorite frosting technique. It was super easy and I think it turned out great.
This picture showcases our lovely wallpaper that still remains in the kitchen and bathrooms. The house is definitely a post for another day!
Everyone, especially the birthday girl had a great time. So thankful for our friends and family who were there to help us celebrate!
