Nesting

Nesting is different this time around. Basically I have the urge to throw everything away that I haven't used in the last 15 minutes and to have my house spic and span at all times.  Both of these are very unfortunate for Paul who neither likes to throw anything away nor is what I would describe as spic and span.

The good news is that the Wharton City Wide Garage Sale was this past weekend and while I wasn't tempted to stand in the heat all day and sell things for a nickel, I was able to donate a lot (like 5 trash bags full) of junk from the guest bedroom closet and other places I'd been stashing stuff to a local non profit who was hosting a sale. Ahh I love the feeling of getting rid of junk.

Also, I was able to sell our old washer and dryer via a facebook group and we got a beautiful new set (part of that whole cleanliness thing). It is amazing to turn your dryer on once and have the clothes come out dry.  I am secretly looking for things to wash right now - all of our beds have clean sheets and I even washed the guest towels just to "freshen them up."

I also sold a set of dining chairs from my mom's house to a local antique/boutique shop here in town and I know the owner is going to recover them and paint them and make them lovely and that makes me happy.
Here's a picture of the chest from my mom's that they painted for me - it will go in the girls room. They also did a mirror from my mom's and it is beautiful.

That's my mirror on display in the shop. Look for Hoity Toity Peacock or Stained and Striped on Facebook to see more of the shop.

I consolidated and organized all of our pictures into a lovely box system.  I've been wanting to do this for years. And yes, they are chronological and sorted by category (i.e. Paul and Hearin high school dances, tri delt functions, etc). Its sort of sick but wonderful at the same time.
This is the case I used from amazon.

In the mean time I've also steam cleaned all of the carpets. Really if you were wanting to come visit, now is a good time :) Hah

Still a few things left on the to do list like getting rid of a few nicer items like some collectible dolls and silver serving pieces that I don't want or need.  Anyone have connections in the doll market?

Other nesting activities have included getting Em ready for a big girl bed which deserves its own post.  We will give that a go in July so I'll keep you posted.
