13 months

As you can see from the previous post, Em is walking. I guess you can consider her a "walker" since she is choosing to use that method of transportation on her own quite often these days. Its been really fun to watch her progress. I can't believe how much more quickly she is moving in just one week. Highest number of steps taken in a row so far? 35! Go Em Go.

She's also been making lots of new sounds and noises. It is so fun to watch her language develop and to think about this time last year when she wasn't even smiling at us. And now she understands what we are telling her and responds. For example, I can say, "Are you hungry? Let's have lunch." and she will respond with, "mmm, mmm" So stinkin cute.
She's really into the animal sounds too. I tried to capture her meow on video because it is just hilarious. more like a short and quick, "mow" She's very matter of fact about her cat sounds and quite enjoyed visiting the clinic the other day and seeing the boarding cats. She also visited a bull that was at the clinic. I thought she would love it since she loves "mooing" when she sees a cow in a book. However, that was not the case. She clung to me like crazy and cried a little bit. I stopped on the way home at a friends pasture where lots of cows were and she liked them a little better. And they mooed at her and she thought that was pretty funny. She was mooing and meowing the whole way home from the visit.
She will also say "baa" at a sheeps picture and "Roar" at her dinosaur walking toy. The roar is one of my favorites.

She's also been dancing lately. She really got into this when Becky stayed with her while Paul and I were gone in california.
Her dancing consists of mostly waving her arms in the air and sometimes bouncing her booty. She's quite pleased with herself and loves to hear the music on her toys.

She's also starting to pretend play. She will pick up  her play phone and say hello (which sounds more like "hum" And she will pretend to eat and drink with her tea set and toy cakes.

And one of our most resent favorites is her snuggling. She will snuggle with us and also with her stuffed animals. So sweet to watch her show affection!
