Life of A Country Dog - Warning...not for the faint at heart

Millie and Jack rise at 6am every morning and are eager to get their day started. They usually pace around the bedroom for about 5 minutes and then Millie goes to Paul's side of the bed and starts to nuzzle his arm until he gets up to feed them (I am so thankful they nuzzle him and not me!). As soon as they eat they are standing at the back door raring to go. As soon as the door opens they struggle to get past Paul and bolt out (through the flower bed) and into the yard. They zoom around the garage and they are off to have who knows what kind of adventures.
Paul leaves for work around 7:30 and they are out and about until around 11:00 everyday. When we first moved in I was so worried about where they were going or if they were too far, etc. but since Em's arrival it is funny how I just figure they will be fine and will come home when they are ready. Luckily they've gotten most of their exploring out and stick pretty close to the house (or so we think...in reality I have no idea where they are most of the time).
I know that on many days their adventures consist of bird and squirrel hunting. I'm amazed at how successful they are. You would think those squirrels would learn to live somewhere else or at least stay away. Sometimes I get a suprise when I open the door at 11:00.

Squirrels 0 Millie and Jack 5 (at least)
