Paul and I had our 10 year reunion was this past weekend in San Antonio. Preparation for our weekend began last Tuesday when Paul and I took Emmerich into Sugarland for a little shopping and lunch (have I mentioned how much I love Paul having Tuesdays off?).
We had a great time and I found a new dress for the reunion and Paul and I got to enjoy a leisurly lunch (and dessert) at the Cheesecake Factory. Emmerich slept the entire time, even through coffee and Kahlua Cheesecake.
It took a day of planning and a day of packing to get all three of us ready for our first out of town visit and we finally got everyone fed and in the car around 1 pm on Friday. As soon as we hit the highway, Emmerich was out like a light (Thank you soothie pacifier for helping us through the 10 minutes on the way to the highway). She slept the entire way to SA (3 hrs) and even slept through our pit stop at Buc-ees in Luling.
We arrived in SA and 4 doting grandparents were raring to babysit while Paul and I went to a party with some high school friends on Friday night. They all had a fabulous time and of course Emmerich was wonderful for the tag team babysitting pairs. Paul and I had a great time seeing old friends too.
Saturday we had a little brunch at the Schmitt's and had some friends over. Lauren and John got to meet Emmerich and catch up with us and Nick and Kyle and his wife and mom also stopped by. Uncle Reed joined the party as well. It was so nice to see everyone! I so wish we were closer so we could do that more often.
Saturday night Becky came with us to the reunion and stayed in a hotel room with Em upstairs. She was so wonderful for watching the munchkin and it was nice to have her close by for feedings, etc. It was a late night and we were exhausted but we had a wonderful time!
