Emmerich turned 4 months old this Saturday. I can't believe how time is flying by and how much she is growing and changing. It seems like every week she is doing something new and I have to admit I was almost shocked when I looked at these pictures side by side with the other ones. She is so alert and engaged. We are truly lucky to have such a happy baby. She is just a "doll" as all of the old ladies in church say.
Em found piggy's ear
Look Piggy! Over there!
Tuesday Em went for her 4 month check up with Dr. Sears. We waited and waited and waited and finally after an hour he came in to see her (such is cold and flu season). She was much more patient than her mom and dad. Thanks Hilary for her Sophie doll. She played with that to keep her busy! And she did a great job with her shots.
Here are the stats from the visit:
Height: 25 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 11lbs 15.5 oz (20th percentile)
She is sleeping an average of 5 hour stints in the night (not every night, but most). Dr. Sears said it is probably because she is little and is needing to eat in the night and suggested that if she's not sleeping through the night at 5 months then to try some cereal (works for some kids to help them sleep through the night and not for others). So we will see. We will wait for solids until she turns 6 months.
She's really perfecting the grab and can grab most toys with accuracy and bring them to her mouth. Her favorite toy so far is the crinkle book. She loves that thing and will even let me push her in the stroller for about a mile if she has that with her ;) She is doing great with tummy time and enjoys it much more than she previously did but she's still not rolling over. She's doing a great job holding her head up and has been pulling her knees up underneath her too. She's a little giggly girl and is laughing more and more. We are working on capturing an video and will post that when we get it :)
And the other big news...Ladies and Gentlemen...we have our first tooth!
I noticed it yesterday. It hasn't really seemed to affect her much and she's still our happy little girl. We couldn't really get a picture because it is still just a little nubbin just barely exposed through the gum. So I broke out the teethers and we will let her try that new toy!
